Art writers and critics Gabrielle de la Puente and Zarina Muhammad, known collectively as The White Pube, have been collaborating since 2015 to provide reality checks to the oft-elitist and inaccessible art world via their online platform.

Poor Artists, their first book, blends anonymous interviews and innovative storytelling to follow an aspiring artist as she wrestles with the realities of a capitalist system that has commercialised creativity, making art into 'artwork'.
